“This body of work—Existential Synthesis—is a result of my attitude toward the modern human existence we’re now living within—climate transformation, overpopulation, social and ideological chaos, runaway technology, and so on. I’m constantly asking myself, how do we as humans coexist or even adapt within these uncanny and divergent spaces? What will become of our modern way of living that seems at odds with the natural rhythm of our planet? These thoughts become of me as I unpack the world around me in an effort to find a refuge for understanding. I began to think about this series while on my honeymoon in Italy in 2022. Experiencing the masterful paintings and sculptures at Uffizi in Florence & Gallerie dell’Accademia in Venice impacted me in a profound way and prompted me to begin this new series of works.”
